Swifty Scooters

I was recently commissioned to shoot a set of images at the Salford based kick-scooter company Swifty Scooters. Selected images were to be used for an editorial piece in ‘The Business’, a magazine sent out to over 5000 Greater Manchester based businesses. My brief was fairly open but as it was a case study covering the journey of the two owners Jason and Camilla, I felt it was important that I did not get lost with documenting the manufacturing processes and facilities but simply produce images featuring the pair of them enjoying the finish products.

In the run up to the shoot date, I took the time to have a good walk around the areas surrounding the Swifty Scooters HQ and decide upon a variety of locations. I planned a list of shots in advance as to not run over our agreed timings, allowing them to get back to the running of their fast growing business.

Whilst preparing for the shoot I found some great graffiti backdrops that went on to bringing some real life into the final images and worked perfectly with the urban image of Manchester based brand. With the magazine design in mind I shot the entrepreneurs in a number of different poses and ranging crops leaving the designer with plenty of options when pulling the article together.

I was very pleased with how the final article looked and the vibrancy of the locations I chose really added to promoting Swifty Scooters funky brand and making the printed feature extremely eye catching.

“Yes they gave me a ride and it was great fun! With little effort it feels like you are gliding along”
